this is probably going to sound neurotic and insane but I'm actually getting quite worried.

I keep getting this sort of buzzing sensation in my veins, esp in legs, especially when I wake up or when I've been still for any amount of time. It never used to happen, and its not like pins and needles its just a sort of vibration. not uncomfortable but makes me feel kind of light headed and queasy. Been happening for about 3 months I think, but seems to happen more frequently now. Also my hands are really shaky these days (and its not the dts before anyone goes there!)

I have no idea what this could be, and I'm relatively healthy usually, not pg (at least I don't think so!), not overweight etc. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I don't want to waste the GPs time if its just a fact of life/ageing type thing.

Perplexed (and shakily) yours, Meowmix

yes, I sometimes get this and it's generally because I need to eat, often something sugary makes it go away

meowmix · 13/07/2006 10:10

i've tried that but am still vibrating (internally) and not in a good way, its MOST disconcerting

hi think you probably ought to go and see yuor GP could be a nerve conduction thing. HTH

WigWamBam · 13/07/2006 11:06

No idea, but to be honest I don't think you'd be wasting your GP's time if you went to see him. It's causing you discomfort, it's been going on for a while, and I think you should get it checked out.

suzywong · 13/07/2006 11:07

and as a back up to GP you could go and see a Chinese Herbalist, they are good and internal over all things, may be imbalance in your energies

ediemay · 13/07/2006 11:10

Hi meow
It could be a trapped nerve or something like carpal tunnel syndrome. Don't let it worry you, go to your GP and I'm sure they can help. I had CTS when preg and had some physio, which really helped me.
take care
edie

ok but if he sections me for being a loon I'll be blaming you lot for making me go.

"What seems to be the problem Meowmix?"

"Well doctor, I feel like I'm vibrating..."

heavens.

Thanks for the advice.

Go to the GP, I had tremors and shaky hands, turned out I was extremely ill with hyperthyroidism!!
I felt pretty OK, but went downhill rapidly.
Do you feel panicky too at all ?
Is your heart rate fast ?
Get it checked just in case
Hope it's all alright

meowmix · 13/07/2006 11:35

ooer. I have moments where I feel fluttery panic in my chest but put that down to asthma?
