Yello Lump in eyes

Loonytoonie · 21/11/2013 22:14

I have them both sides and have always been conscious of them. Am putting some seriously silly work hours in at the moment, and my eyes are bloodshot.

My yellow lumps look dreadful - raised and wobbly, I feel like scrapping them off. What can I do?

I would go to the opticians and get him to have a look I initially. Explain your concerns - they have specialist knowledge and are easy to access initially.

It could be a pinguecula. Look on Google images too, it may look the same.

I have this, I worried too but as littlejob has said, the optician put my mind at rest. They could be a reaction to UV light, I was advised to get over-the-counter eyedrops and light-reactive lenses.

BTW, I always felt like scraping mine off too Sad

I have these one on each eye but worse on one eye, and sometimes it makes my eye look jaundiced, which it's not. I mentioned it to the optician when I last had my eyes checked she said something about my eyes being a little dry, but said she didn't think the yellow lump being anything to be concerned about. She said perhaps it was a reaction to some mess I was taking and to check with GP if the yellow got worse to check for jaundice/liver function, but I know my liver function is ok as had mot after they appeared, and it's obviously not jaundice as just those patches.

I am interested to know more about it too, as I feel old and tired enough without these adding to it!

I also want to scrape them off!

are they on or around the eyes? yellow lumps around the eyes can be xanthelasma which can be removed?

Loonytoonie · 23/11/2013 14:52

Thanks everyone. They're on the actual eyeball, on the inner side. Two fleshy yellowing lumps. I prodded at them yesterday and they are jelly-like and ugly.

I noticed years ago thwt my mum had them' but whe doesn't have them now. How come?
