Allergy to deodorant?

Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to deodorant, but only on one side?

My left armpit is stinging, itchy and sore and red and swollen and it's driving me insane.

Is there anything, apart from Sudocrem, that I can use to get rid of A, the itch and B, the soreness?

I find the antiperspirant stuff they use in deodorant makes me itch and it will not go away until it is all washed off. Mild soapy stuff twice a day.

yes. well it happened to me recently, one sided itching, red and eczema looking. ok if i didn't use deodorant. i got some hydrocortisone from the chemist and it cleared up in a day or 2. then i changed my deodorant to a neal's yard one, which is expensive, but doesn't make me itch and smells a little bit like gin & tonic! rash has gone and hasn't come back.

Is that just a generic hydrocortisone, or is there a brand to look out for?

I'm allergic to anti-p. come up as you describe. Just switched to roll on and non perfume stuff. Few years later, doesn't matter. Dunno why

It was just bog standard first one I could find and buy in Tesco I think. Worked a treat.
