Calcification in uterus

Wondered if anyone has any experience of this?

DS2 is 11 months. After having him I had the normal bleeding but it just went on and on. When he was 3 months I had an ultrasound which showed there were still some clots. GP said to wait and see what happens and the bleeding eventually stopped.

Periods returned when DS was 6 months and have been ridiculously heavy. There are a couple of days each month that I have to take medication to slow/stop the bleeding just so I can leave the house.

Went to my GP a couple of weeks ago and was referred for another ultrasound. Had the scan this morning and was told that I have an area of calcification and that I need to get a referral to gynae.

Does anyone know what happens next? What could've caused it? I'm not googling! But can't help but worry.

TIA
