Itchy shoulder

I would feel so silly going to my doctor about this but it's driving me crazy and I need advice!

For the last few months my right shoulder has been itchy pretty much all the time, it's just the front and top of my shoulder not my back at all. I haven't changed washing powder, shower gel etc and there's no rash or skin discolouration.

I did try google but according to it I'm going to die so I'd like some positive responses please.

Do you have a different make of bra or vest top? The adjustable strap may have a tiny bit of scratchy nylon thread or something similar - just enough to make your skin sensitive.

Do you always carry a shoulder bag on the right hand side? the strap could be irritating a nerve.

Try antihistamine cream on the site of the itch?

could just be scoriosis or some skin problem. just go see your doctor. i highly doubt it is life threatening :)

Hi
This was my very first (of many) symptoms of an underactive thyroid. Please keep your eyes open for other non alarming changes. They start slowly but quickly add up to the fact that something is changing in your body

trapped nerve?

The side of one of my knees itches like this. Has done for a few years. Sometimes not for weeks and other times drives me crazy. Not a mark on the skin - it's like it itches from inside rather than the skin itching. Sorry no help but watching with interest.

I haven't changed clothes of underwear and its more on the ball of my shoulder (is that a thing? Hmm)

The handbag thing could explain somethings though. I tend to carry a large bag with contents to see me through any sort of disaster! Maybe I should lighten the load and see does it help.

I was tested a couple of years ago for an under active thyroid (I think) due to bad pains in my hands, might be worth going and seeing my GP and seeing if they can test again.
