Morning after pill- Side effects?

Hello!
Had to take Levonelle emergency contraception about 10 days ago following a split condom. All was fine, no sickness.
However, I started my period 2 days ago and it's horrible. Heavy and painful, clots... And emotionally I've been uncharacteristically manic in my moods.
Anyone else get this? D'you reckon I need to call the out of hours?

Being positive it sounds like it worked (mine didn't) I have heard horror stories of periods being horrendous after it so I think it's fairly normal. Have you googled?

A bit wary of googling (wimp!) The emotional thing completely freaked me out- I became someone else yesterday. I found myself parking the car in a layby to weep for no reason, and I am normally so laid-back and calm...

I was told it was like taking 6 months worth of the pill in one go - that sure is a whole heap of hormones!

I have now googled- not much on mood swings but the heavy bleeding is normal. Feel a bit better having read that!

The active ingredient is levonorgestrel, which is the same progestin as in the Mirena coil. there is plenty of stuff on mood swing side effects on the Mirena. You should start to feel more like your old self as the stuff leaves your system.

My name is denisa and I had to take the levonelle emergency contraception, and I took it today at 1:30pm, i had to take it because the condom spilt... The thing im not getting any of the side effects of the pill. And now my boyfriend is getting very worried. I am against abortion so if anything, i want this baby and i am planning to keep it. My friend made me take the pill so yeah.
I really don't know what to expect or what to do, any advice would be much appreciated xx
