Plurisy and pain relief?

After a worrying 2 weeks, 1 ambulance and 4 trips to out of hours my wife has been diagnosed with pluricy. She has been prescribed Co-dydramol 500mg but her pain is through the roof. Describing as a 10 out of 10 she can barely move and theres a cracking nuckle bone type noise from her ribs. Im very worried, shes about to start the painkillers but before she does are these going to be strong enough? Is tgere anything else we can do to ease the discomfort? Dr says it can last weeks! Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

Get the meds into her..there is no point asking what else she can have unless she has had the ones she has been prescribed.
Co-dydramol is quite strong stuff and should make a decent difference. (Make sure she has lots of fluids and probably laxatives too tho..they constipate)

Plurisy is horrible but the meds WILL help .

check that the pain killers don't suppress coughing or you can get worse chest infections (found that out too late)

lying on the painful part eases pain
