Mallet finger

So I just injured my finger with a mallet finger injury....it's splinted. Does anyone know if I can use it normally while splinted or have to be careful with it at work. I have a fairly physical job and also need to be dextrous but will probably just about manage.
Anyone else had the same?

My mum currently has a splint on for mallet finger. She has a plastic splint which protects it quite well so she says it doesn't change what she does. The biggest problem she has is trying to keep it dry.

Thanks runner. I find I'm straining my other fingers a bit and can't hold a cup or knife etc easily. Otherwise I'm fine
