Mole - slightly sore, more raised, has bled

A very old and previously unbothersome mole is now raised, slightly sore and has at some point been bleeding (has a slight scab on, and I've just noticed a drop of dried blood in my bra).

So I'm guessing I need to go to the GP.

The thing is, I've just caught DS twiddling it between his thumb and finger, and now I wonder if it was just him! Should I wait a while to see if it resolves itself before seeing GP? Do I need to book a regular appointment (3ish week wait) or is it more urgent?

Thanks. Swinging between total panic and being sure it's nothing.

Book the appointment.
Every mole that shows these signs should be checked. If it turns out that it is child induced rather than anything more serious, then the GP will be as happy as you to have confirmed it.

Some things are never a waste of GP time.

Please get it checked. Ring up and ask for a suitable appointment. Three weeks is a bit of a long time to wait to see about anything!

You may be right about it being nothing - but you do need to make sure.

Best of luck.

Get it checked out asap as the mole has also changed in appearance.

BTW if you are waiting three weeks for a regular appointment then I'd be changing GP surgery as well as complaining to the practice manager.

Thanks. So it's even worth making a next-day appt for?

Attila - it is tempting, but all three GPs are so brilliant and lovely that I'm v reluctant to change!

I agree re getting it looked at but recently I had a spot under a mole that made it appear raised and sore and that just went away.
