DS1 swollen gland on one side of neck

Hi

DS1 (5 1/2) right gland slightly swollen last night, up a bit more this morning going down onto the top of his neck. Otherwise fine - no temp, didn't want breakfast though. Went back to bed for a bit, but now gone off with DH to the shops.

Could it be the start of mumps - anyone any experience? Have DS1 (15 mths) so am keeping him away best I can!!!)

OK - DS had a little nap this afternoon - woke up and his face was even more swollen and he said he felt poorly. So, DH took him off to A&E and they checked him out, unlikely to be mumps, cos only one side and not in huge pain (only when touched), probably infection in the gland and has come home with a big bottle of antibs! Now watching a video and seems quite happy!!!
