Oral lichen planus?

I think I've got oral lichen planus. Do I need to see the GP? Is there any point?

Probably better to see your dentist. Most people are unaware of lesions until they go for a routine check up. They can refer you to oral medicine clinic/oral surgeon.
Lichen planus is only one of the causes of the lesions you may have in your mouth so it is important to have it checked.

Go and see the dentist, I have oral lichen planus and it was originally caused by the metal dental fillings. I had them all removed and replaced with white ones and it rarely gives me any trouble now. I had terrible ulcers and rough skin in my mouth and nothing was getting rid of it so one consultant suggested this and it improved immediately :)

My dentist suggested changing toothpaste to help mine, I use Toms of Maine now (from amazon) with no trouble, but if I run out and use something more normal I get layers of skin stripping off withn days.

Dentist? Hadn't thought of that.

Hi just wondered if you had any advice on oral lichen planus. I have it on my front gums and the more I read about it the more anxious I get, thanks in advance
