My DD is 19 months old. When we were away at the wwekend she did not do a poo and very few wees on friday or saturday. She kept asking for the potty but not doing anything. At 4.30am on sunday she did a huge wee in the potty but still no poo.
DP needed to go into work on our way home on sunday, so I went into town and bought sryup of figs and fig rolls to try and help her. She ate half of the fig roll before dropping it in the car. Later that evening when DP changed her he said that there was a dark hard poo in her nappy which was fairly big and she did one of a similar size in the potty. I therefore did not give her the sryup of figs,
Yesterday she had 2 very mucky nappies which seemed to be pretty loose. At 5am this morning after some breastmilk she asked for the potty, this time it was very runny poo mixed with a lot of wee and her tummy was making funny gurgling noises. When I changed her after getting up at 8am there was more of the same in it.

Anyone got any ideas as to how to help her?

Thanks in Advance

She has seemed slightly upset. She was not her usually happy, chatty self over the weekend

Can U give her a bit of Lactulose - thats what I have to take and I am sure you can give it to little ones.

Mind you from your post it sounds (literally) like the syrup of figs is working - the gurgling will just be her insides churning up - mine do it after my lactulose!!

(Dead impressed at her asking for potty at her age though - WOW )

Believe me too - you get higly upset when constipated - that accounts for my mood most of the time!! It is sooo painful and makes you feel tired and sluggish and out of sorts.

Just make sure that she is drinking lots and lots!!

Me again,
She seemed to enjoy herself but she was asking for potty on the way home. When we got home she did not want to go, then I heard very wet wind from her bum and it leaked over the top of her nappy. It also stank of egg. I had to change her completely. she was still saying peepee peepee but did not do anything when I sat her on the potty. She has now gone for her nap but she is out of sorts and did not want to play with the little friend that came back after tumble tots which is not like her at all.
