Reflux- any tips on how to avoid it?

Fr the past few weeks, I have been woken during the night by vomit coming up and out of my nose and mouth. The only thing which seems to stop it is taking gaviscon before bed, as I am assuming it is reflux.

Are there specific food groups I should avoid to try and get rid of it? Does any one have any other tips which might help?

Oh yes! Avoid camomile tea and peppermint tea - they may be generally soothing and relaxing but they also relax the digestive system, allowing acid back up. Also avoid blackberries - same logic.

I find that I cannot eat pastry!

Some people find that certain foods cause more reflux - tomatoes, acidic fruits and chocolate are common issues.

A big thing that can help many people, though certainly not everyone is general lifestyle change - weight loss is the big one, and moderate but not vigorous exercise. archinte.jamanetwork.com/Mobile/article.aspx?articleid=410292

Thank you. I fear weight loss may the way forward. Also, I have been drinking lemon barley, probably not advisable.

Chocolate, twits not good!
