Infected c section scar?

It has been 3 weeks post section and this is my second one. I have recovered quite well and spend a week after in hospital (poorly baby)
A week after the op the midwife saw a small area that was not healing. She took a swab and sent it off and we got discharged. Five days later my regular midwife called and I asked her to look up the results and she agreed and would call back if any probs.
Late last week I went to the docs for it to be double checked and he said it looked fine.
I got a call from the midwife yesterday to inform me the swab had shown an infection and to get anti-biotics from the doc. I went and got some, but my scar is now healed!
The question is should I take them given I feel fine now and if it was bad surely it would not have healed? I'm not impressed that it has been missed either.

If it's now two weeks since the swab and the wound has healed and you feel well ( no temp, sweats feeling crap), I would leave it. I avoid antibiotics if at all possible. Your body does have the ability to fight infection.

Congratulations on your baby!

Thank you. I really do not want to take them if I do not have to.

Quite frequently cs wounds get infected with staph of similar (especially with a second and subsequent cs where you may have a bit of an apron) and don't require abs. As above. If systemically well you don't need treat. Really no need to feel like anything "wrong" has occurred.
