Delaying menstrual cycle

Hi
I'm hoping this is the best place to post this. My period is due, smack bang in the middle of a planned weekend away. It's in two weeks time and I would like to halt my period for the duration of the weekend.

I know it's entirely possible using drugs but has anyone any experience of this? How will it feel (if anything) and apparently it could make me feel bloated and kill my libido - which kind of defeats the object! Just wondering whether it's worth it?

I cant believe I saw this as have just asked something similar.

Here you go

It is the same thing your doc would give you but you can order online for £30. Take it from 3 days before period due.

I used norethisterone a few months ago to delay a period for a weekend whilst I was away. I got it from Boots using their online pharmacy system rather than going through my doctors.

It worked in that my period didn't arrive but I felt as I normally would just before a period but it lasted much longer. I was bloated, crampy and had sore boobs.

The first few days of my periods are (TMI) awfully heavy and I flood frequently so it was worth it as I'd have been away right on those days but I think I'd rather have the lighter last few days of my period than delay completely if you see what I mean. The constant pre-menstrual feeling wasn't particularly nice.

I took Norethisterone when i went away on holiday in august. It worked, but i had the most horrific side effects that i won't ever be taking it again.

I had violent mood swings (screaming rage, sobbing, seething, paranoia), bloating, stomach issues, insomnia, and had my family tiptoeing round me for fear of setting me off. effects didn't completely go away till after my second period after taking them.

Oddly enough though i'd had it before then without any problems at all!

I took Norethisterone a few months ago and had absolutely no side effects whatsoever from it.

it does work reliably i think, but gives me chronic insomnia. thats why i was wondering how much notice you need to use combined pill for the same thing.

Oops sorry just seen this. Yes it worked perfectly, we were on holiday abroad and I really didn't want to have my period. Stopped taking it the last day of the holiday and came on my period about 48 hours later.
Period was no different to usual and was back in 28 day routine the following month.
