Vagina Odour (sorry if TMI)!

My vagina odour has always been pleasant/non existent , unless normal changes such as period or obviously if I had exercised for a long period of time it would be slightly stronger as with any body scent.

Recently this has changed. Back in August I went to the GUM clinic and explained, and she said I probably had BV.
I'm clear of STDs and am in a long-term relationship, partner clear too so I can rule those sorts of things out. I was treated for BV and went back to normal.
However since then I've noticed I smell stronger down there generally, just not as neutral as normal. I used a thrush treatment as I also had a bit of white discharge, I've had thrush before (who hasn't!) and this treatment worked but a few days later I noticed the odour was back again.
Grrr-what is it?What can I do?!
I think It's probably worth mentioning that I am on a low carb diet and I know this is renowned for chemical changes and changes in body odour-is this what's changed my vagina odour?
If it is, I think I'd rather be fat and not smell/have healthy bits!
I'm 31. Periods normal, not taking any contraceptives or medications. Or could it be something more serious, like PID?
Thank you xx

Is it, ahem, fishy and worse during your period?
Cos that's bv back again.
Not sure about the low carbing, ask BIWI what hers smells like.

JemimaPuddle · 31/10/2013 11:23

I had BV and it came back a few times quite quickly before I was completely back to normal.

IHATEMYBITS · 31/10/2013 11:27

It's not fishy and not worse during period, however when I did have BV that wasn't fishy scented.
It's not the same scent as when I had BV though. I treated the BV with balance active.
Lol I don't know what BIWI is?!
Thanks Jemima. I suppose it could be BV again. Is it weird to never have BV and then all of a sudden get it aged 31?!
I'll get some more balance active I think and see if it works, It's just weird because I distinctly remember the scent I had with BV and this isn't the same.

Not sure. I'd never had it then got it at 25, came back 2 or 3 times within the following 6 months and haven't had it since. I'm 36 now.

It might need treating with proper anti biotics. Go and get some swabs, you can't go walking about with a smelly vagina! Grin
BIWI is the low carb guru on mn.

Sleepingbanana · 31/10/2013 21:09

I did just fall about laughing at that thewalking! Still chuckling.
Def get anti biotics, that balance active did not work for me.

Thewalkingdeadkr · 31/10/2013 21:24

Good! You have to see the funny side don't you?
I think over the counter meds are great but often you need stronger stuff!
I'd prefer hard core drugs myself, nothing is too good for my foof!

Haha thanks for that everyone :)
I am going to the clinic in the morning. Think I am just goig to walk in there and say 'K WTF is wrong with my bits!!'
I actually got a bit upset earlier.
I had a LOT of discharge before-but it was like water!Lots of it, I was wearing pj pants and they were SOAKED!
A few years ago I noted I always had this problem after I had a bath.I went to my GP and she said It's common if you have a small/tight vaginal wall as water gets trapped up there when you bathe and then your body expels it.
However I shower now rather than bathe, and recently It's been happening again.
I was googling and came across yeast infection a lot but, this is a LOT of discharge. It doesn't smell unpleasant, maybe a little yeasty and generally like water that's been up a vag, but nothing strong or nasty. And It's scaring me!Where does all this water COME from?
I thought even I'm experiencing incontinence but it doesn't smell like urine and I'm only 31-and my weeing habits are normal-I never think I need the lavvy then don't make it. I'm going to go to the clinic but in the meantime, WTH could this be?anybody experienced anything similar?
I also found on google that this is common if one exercises heavily. I don't do 'heavily' but I do a 30 min run most days and it often happens after that, if I think back correctly.
