About to go on holiday, worried about not noticing dehydration ... what are the symptoms to look out for?

Ooops ! What I actually meant to ask were symptoms to look out for in a very young baby - i.e. if they are still producing wet nappies, does that mean every thing is OK? Or is it possible to have wet nappies and still be dehydrated?

nope, few wet nappies in dehydrated babies.Lots of wet nappies=good hydration.

Is the soft spot still soft? You can always tell if it starts to indent (be very careful though). We live in the Bahamas so when DS was bhorn, I read up on it. They say 4 to 6 wet nappies a day is ok, less is when you need to start being concerned.

The fontanelles are the big thing to look out for aren't they? If they become indented?
