I am in pain.. with a capital P! Not sure what has happened but I have a deep deep pain in my left side/pelvis/vagina.. which reminds me very much of how I was before my hysterctomy ten years ago. REALLY hoping I have't had a further prolapse (common) but as it ocurred after running and doing a lot of lifting, I am suspicious..and scared.

It hurts to stand , walk sit, even rumbling tum causes a wave of pain.
I have taken paracetamol and ibruprofen all week but it;s barely taken the edge off. Tried Solpadeine but then slept and slept and didn't wake to feed my son (he;s 16 but disabled and can't fend for himself!) so that's really not a good option unless dh is home.

Earliest docs appy 4th november !

Hot water bottle is comforting but I need to be able to function.. to walk around at least. I work in school but thank god its half term next week!

Any suggestions gratefully recieved!

Can't you get an OOH appt? That sounds "wrong" - the kind of pain you shouldn't just try to medicate and live with for even a few days, never mind a week.

What about the stick on heat pads for bad backs? When my back is bad one of those stuck to my vest is fab.

Maybe you could phone your GP first think on Monday and ask for an urgent appt- ours fit in people at the end of the day. It doesn't sound right and would be better to get it sorted out this week rather than when back at school.

You need to tell GP you need a same day appointment as its urgent

Thanks

You can buy Voltarol Pain-eze Extra Strength 25mg tablets (Diclofenac) over the counter. You have to ask for the pharmacist for them. You only get 6 though and can take 3 a day.

It doesn't sound right to be in that amount of pain, you really should go to out of hours or a walk in centre. You can't wait till the 4th November. If you were a patient at my surgery, I'd let you have my appointment on Monday.
