I am getting a bit freaked out by this...
Background is:
I am 36 going on 37, have mostly had clockwork periods, one child.
I have loads of fibroids, some of which have calcified, and a dermoid cyst on one ovary. All fairly bog standard.
Anyway, I got my period as normal at the beginning of the month. It lasted 4 days. Six days later I noticed blood when I was on the loo. I then proceeded to bleed for 6 days! I thought it had finished, but I just bled again.
So that is a week of bleeding right in the middle of my cycle.
I have felt a bit crampy and periody, but no pain.
I went to the doc yesterday, and she basically shrugged, and told me to wait until the bleeding had finished, and come back next week to be examined.
She asked me when my last smear was. I think 3 yrs ago, but seeing as she is sat there looking at my medical records, I think she could have told me!
Anyway, not sure what to think. I did have a very late period around six months ago (was moving house, so I put it down to that).
I am worried I am peri menopausal!
Or worse 
Anyone got any ideas?
