Short menstral cycles

Quick background: 20 years old, got period at 14. Cycles have been quite regular since 15 or 16. 29 days. 5 days of bleeding. Sometimes 28 or 30 but usually 29. Have mild cramping the first day or so, generally a pretty average flow.

Last autumn I had a few 27 day cycles mixed in. Thought it was a little weird but didnt give it much thought. Then I had a 24 day cycle. Very weird. Told myself it was just stress and everyone has weird cycles. Then a 21 day cycle came. Totally weirded out. Had more, shortish cycles.

Went to the student clinic, and was told it was fine. I'm at a good weight, decent complexion, dont have excess body hair etc. nothing that would indicate hormonal issues.

I was on BC for a few months following that but went off as it made me feel quite depressed. Cycles are still short. This one was 25 days.

What is going on with my uterus? I dislike having my period as much as the next woman. They're a bother. I also find it strange that they'd be so regular for years and then my cycles suddenly get shorter. Any insight?

I had three years of having periods every two weeks when I started at 12. For around 20 years I had a cycle of roughly 28-31 days, but over the last three years my cycles have been 14-26 days. Hate the things, but don't feel anything is wrong and have just put it down to the fact that these things can change.
