Anyone experienced palpitations?

I'm not expecting medical advice here but just wondering if anyone else has had them so I can maybe figure out if thats what I have and whether or not I should be concerned.
I've been getting what feels like a surge of adrenaline(stomach lurching) then my heart thumps for a beat or 2. It happens at totally random times and I can be doing anything at all - I've even had it during work meetings when I'm at my most bored.
Initial googling seems to point towards seemingly harmless palpitations, just wondering if anyone has had them.

I used to sometimes have a minute or 2 of my heart going super fast for no reason. Had it all checked out (ECG) at hospital. They couldn't find anything wrong. Only a few years later did a doc ask about my caffeine intake- it was very high & they think that could have caused it.

Hmmm, my intake is quite high but has been for years and this is a recent phenomenon.
Also, my heartbeat only seems to go faster for a couple of seconds. A couple of minutes would be scary!
Might ask the GP about an ECG or something then, thanks for the info poshme.
