After a shocking cold, I came down with Cystitis.. I completed the 6 sachets of Cranberry Canestan and felt better most of yesterday. However, 430 this am, its come back. I've called the gp and cannot get an app until the 28th...
Is their anything in my cupboards perhaps which will rid me of this? Any home remedies you ladies know of?
Many thanks x

Might be worth phoning the doctor back and pointing out you're feeling very uncomfortable and ask for an appointment today. Might give you one tomorrow now, but it's not acceptable to leave it untreated until then. If you have no luck, might be worth speaking to the pharmasist. I know drinking cranberry juice and water with lemon is meant to help, but not sure it will cure.

Hte only thing htat ever works for me is ABs. Ring your Gp and ask to take a urine sample down in return for a prescription. You can't possibly wait that long. Or could you go to a walk-in?

The walk-in here has closed. I've just phoned the gp and said I can't wait until next week (burning even when I'm not on the loo). Just waiting for a callback from the doctor.

All the research says basically that cystitis needs antibiotics... Research has pretty much ruled out cranberry juice based treatments actually having any real effect - www.nhs.uk/news/2012/10October/Pages/Cranberry-juice-no-good-in-preventing-bladder-infections.aspx

My GP will often prescribe over the phone for cystitis as it's a no brainer and saves them time. I hope you get your hands on them today, in the meantime all you can do is drink loads to make it more comfortable to wee.

I used to get recurring cystitis (for years) that needed Abs. Used to just ring and ask and call to get prescription. No appointment needed.
Now I take high strength garlic tablets. It has stopped it completely. Grin Grin

They've just issued abs after insisting on a water sample. In case it doesn't clear.. These abs are a 7 day course. I hope it improves well before then, cannot cope with this for much longer.
