a question for anyone whos on the mirena coil and period stopped

as mine stopped last aug (coil fitted dec 04) and every month my breast are ssooo mega sore and tender and on my right side i can feel my ovaries so tender and my tummy is bloated - like a period feel except i dont have periods

is this normal?

yup ! All sorts is "normal" apparently. I get about 2 proper periods a year and spotting but still get discomfort from time to time.

I don't get that - I get nothing no periods no nothing. Maybe worth keeping bumped for a few days I'm sure someone must be able to help.

blimey as ive never had such tender boobs all my period life, must start taking evening primrose oil and i know when "im due on" even though no period

Biglips- I had the coil fitted July 04 periods stopped dec 04, I still get slight spotting occasionally but every month I still get really bad period cramps.

Latley I have been thinking about getting the coil removed as I keep getting the symptoms of earl;y pg, this happened one I had been on the pill for 2 years when I was younger... so I am going to speak to the doctor tomorrow re this and see what he says. Does anyone else have pg symptoms occasionally with this coil.

I have also found that I cant seem to lose weight on it.....

Sometimes I think men would work a 3 week month if they had to go through this each 28 days !

i've had mine since march 2004, no periods since about nov 2004 - not even spotting.

get some cramps, and occassional spots, and get pmt (or I blame it on pmt)

funnily enough, I've had some early pregnancy symptoms recently, even did a test - twice!

can't lose weight, and rather more buxom thann I was, not sure if its the coil or my lack of control when nice food and wine around!

still better than periods, and unwanted pg's (although for some strange reason felt a bit sad when I got the negative results). not sure how this will affect the menopause whenit comes (am 40 soon, so it could be any time over next 15 years couldn't it?)

been to see doc today, they are taking mine out on Monday.

Dh and I are going to have a serious talk as the only things left are the cap which is a no no, condoms or he gets the snip.
personally I want number 3.... will have to wait and see...

I got no periods on the mirena but I did get pregnant! (totally outing my new identity having changed my name due to family probs)
I didnt get any of these symptoms but when I started spotting after a year with nothing I asked for a coil ckeck - they said it was fine - but it turned out that my coil had slipped into my cervix following my smear and so I wasn't protected.
After No 3 dh had the snip, as it wasn't planned or hoped for (but is brill now!!)
