Dd who's 6 has chickenpox (which I seem to have mentioned all over these boards in the past few days.
Anyway, she's beginning to feel better and is bored bored bored. She's fed up of videos. But she can't do all her favourite indoors sort of things like drawing, writing, crafts etc because her poor hands are covered in spots. All over the palms (at least 10 on each) and all over her fingers. It is really very sore. She can't hold a pen, she has to use a straw to drink as she can't grip a cup, she can't even wipe her own bottom properly. Poor thing.
The thing is because she's feeling so much better she wants to do something. Any ideas how we can pass the time without her having to use her hands?
Hope you can help because we obviously can't send her back to school if she can't write so we may have a lot of days to fill.

buy some cheap wallpaper - £1.99 per roll and get some paint and make a footprint painting

ds loves doing this!
much easier to clean!
that is if her feet are spot free

hope she is feeling better soon!

Could she do finger painting using v. gentle paint? The coolness might even be slightly comforting, or how about painting on black paper with calamine lotion, thus killing two birds with one stone? Or potato prints?

These may be daft suggestions, my dd is only 17 months so I'm a bit clueless about 6 year olds but I feel very sorry for her.

Jigsaw puzzles?

Fantastic suggestions everyone.
The feet painting may have to wait til ds is having a nap, but I reckon the calamine lotion they could both do. What a fun idea
We can do straw blowing easily enough and the sewing machine stuff I bet she'll love, it'll make her feel really grown up.
Thanks so much for helping us out.
