Think I have got a UTI.

Burning pain and cannot pee (sorry TMI) and of course 6pm on a Friday night.

Any tips?

TIA

You poor thing :( Any chance someone could go to supermarket pharmacy for you and get some of those sachets like cystopurin (think that's what one of them is called) or some potassium citrate liquid. These will make your urine less acidic and less burny.
Drink lots of water obviously (new thinking is that cranberry juice isn't great when you actually have a UTI as it is too acidic).

A warm bath (no bath foam etc in it) might help you wee. And OOH if things get worse or you aren't peeing at all. Hope you feel lots better soon Flowers

I had this last weekend, you need out of hours appt .
Is it can't pee as in just feel the need to wee but there's nothing in your bladder to pass or actual urinary retention and your bladder is full and you can't pee?
If it's the latter I imagine you're in agony and need medical attention straight away , the former and you prob need antibiotics. So need an appt and take a wee sample for them to dip.

ggirl · 18/10/2013 19:06

If it the latter prob can wait until tomorrow to get appt .

Want to pee every 3 minutes and am trying but just nothing.

Cannot bath as epileptic and on my own.

No way I can get to shop.

Earlier this week it was the exact opposite and I had no choice but to (TMI) piss myself in the street

It is the burning and the pain

Keep drinking plenty and call OOH/111 for advice.

ggirl · 18/10/2013 19:28

def uti , actually there is no evidence to say that drinking lots helps much except make you want to pe more this have more pain

ggirl · 18/10/2013 19:28

info

Definitely phone OOH if you aren't able to pass any pee. Earlier in the week when you were the opposite is more like a normal UTI ie urgency and peeing every few mins. If you've had that and now want to but can't pass urine, then I agree, phone for advice.

Poor you UTIs are awful. DO you have some pain killers in the house? They can ease the symptoms. I would call 111 and see if they would prescribe you some antibiotics based on symptoms alone (I would!) ggirl is right there is no evidence drinking more helps to cure and cranberry juice is no good once you have the UTI. Hope it gets resolved soon. I had one a few weeks ago and it was the pits.
