Tooth going black after root canal... Help!

I had a root canal 6 months ago on one my front teeth, upper right front tooth & its gradually darkened and now it's quite grey/black in comparison to my other teeth.

As its the front I'm really stressed about it, what can they do to fix it?

Thank you in advance

From my own experience (I'm not a dentist or anything!) I don't think they can 'fix' the tooth. It goes grey because it is 'dead' once the root with the bloodflow and nerves has gone. In my case, it eventually broke (though probably 10-15 years after the root canal) and I got a crown instead, which looked a lot better.

Once the nerve is removed the tooth is 'dead' and they go grey, I had my three that had root canals crowned, thats they only way it can be fixed as far as I know.

You can internally bleach the tooth - that can help to restore the colour.

When I had root canal in a front tooth, they left a hole in the back of the tooth and made me a tray for my teeth and gave me a set of whitening gels. Just used them on the dead tooth to take it up to the same colour as the rest of my teeth. Then they filled the hole back up and left it.

Every couple of years it starts getting a little darker again, so I use the same trays and buy some whitening gel off the net and bleach the tooth back up again.

I did go private rather than nhs though so I don't know if that makes a difference?

They can file it down and fix a crown to it. That also means there there isn't any stress put onto the dead tooth.
