It was also a Saturday night and A and E is alway littered with foul mouthed drunks, it would have been a nightmare even without the football.

Glad that the pussy tonsil was discovered not nice but it puts your mind at rest, before you know it he will be fighting fit

should have gone a bit earlier - would have been empty while the game was on!

sorry he's been ill - tonsillitus is horrible and makes you feel like poo, so poor little thing. antibs should work really quickly though

Lemmingswife · 02/07/2006 19:24

Poor you, essbee & poor DS.
I am glad the cause has been found though.
My DS1 has had terrible problems with his tonsils over the years. They can be very poorly with tonsil problems, but it is normally cleared up quickly with a course of antibiotics.
Hope your DS gets well very soon.

foxinsocks · 02/07/2006 20:25

your poor ds - there seem to be a lot of throat things going round at the mo - hope he gets better soon. Must be horrid having such a high temp in this weather.

poor boy - lots of ice lollies and jelly

LIZS · 02/07/2006 20:28

Nightmare especially after the last scare. Glad he is on the mend though. Did they test for Strep throat , as that can cause a nasty headache and sickness as well as the throat pain.

Lemmingswife · 02/07/2006 20:30

My DS got really poorly with his tonsils. The first time he had a bad attack, he was just over 2 years old & had a raging temperature, was constantly vomiting green stuff & his eyes kept rolling. It was very scary.
Hope your DS is soon on the road to recovery.

Tonsillitis is cr*p. Soooo painful! However I remember vividly the ABs starting to work - first one side of my throat stopped hurting and then the other, it really was as marked as that.

expatinscotland · 02/07/2006 21:06

OH, essbee!

How frightening. You poor soul!

I'm so glad your son was seen quickly and is on the mend.

The WORST part of being a mum is when they fall ill.

((((HUGS)))

Piffle · 02/07/2006 21:10

oh essbee so sorry to hear your ds has been ill again, poor little guy
DD was in and out of hospital with severe tonsillitis and rocketing uncontrollable temps a coupla months ago and it was awful.
I sympathise, those footy fans would have been awful patients
Hope ds is getting better now with meds and rest

You have my sympathy Essbee. I wad a similar experience a couple of months ago when my 2 yr old DS got a fragment of glass in his foot. Went to local Health Centre but the couldnt get it out so off we went to A&E. NIGHTMARE... never want to go there again. Arrived there at 6pm and had to take 4 mth old DD so I could BF her. We were still there at 11.30 pm by which time there were loads of drunks (one in handcuffs being guarded by police)DD was screaming her head off, Cold drinks machine was out of order on a really hot day and Ds was really tired and irriatable. It was a horrible experience and I had to take DS back at 8 am the next day for surgery. Took me ages to calm down. I feel for you, and hope your DS is feeling better soon
