Has anyone had this?

Last week and throughout last month I was regularly experiencing hot flushes in the day and night sweats. I had a blood test and apparently my hormone levels were consistent with these symptoms . I'm 45 and haven't had a period since May.

Over the last few days however the hot flushes and night sweats have gone. I'm a bit puzzled. What's going on? I made an appointment to see my GP two weeks ago for this Thurs and now wondering whether I should still go. It was to ask about HRT. WWYD and does this sound familiar to anyone?

I'm afraid it's pretty normal for me, don't forget peri meno symptoms can last for 10 years, all the symptoms can come and go in that time..
I had hot flushes 4 years ago but none since, meanwhile normal, then heavy, then no periods for months at a time..

Are you having any other symptoms? If the appts booked i'd still go for a chat, find out what's available etc for when and if you need it, bearing in mind things may well change again.

Had a few hot flushes about 3 yrs ago with a missed period. The everything settled down. Had a month long period about this time last year then nothing for 4 months with a few hot flushes then it all settled down again back to regular periods and no hot flushes. I had some tests last year and it came back I was peri-menopausal. I try to eat well, exercise and take evening primrose oil, vit B6 and a multi vitamin and really believe it helps keep my hormones balanced. Just part of the joy of being a woman!

Every woman's experience is different. I had night sweats, nightmares, agonising aches in the bones while sleeping ,heavy legs and a muzzy brain, but not hot flushes during the day. My periods were as regular as clockworkConfused. At 49 I went on HRT with a light period every month and no symptoms until I was 52 - then no more - hurrahSmile

SIS stayed on the micro pill from 30s to 55 and had no symptoms at all. She came off the pill and still has no menopausal symptoms and no more periods.
