How do I dispose of antibiotics?

Basically, they were prescribed for DS for tonsilitis, which he doesn't have (an issue which I'll be talking to my GP about, because DS ended up having an ambulance ride to hospital later that day). The doctor at the hospital said to stop the course because he had only had 3 doses. DS is fine after the correct treatment at the hospital.

So that leaves me with a bottle in the fridge and a bottle containing the powder to be made up. Can I just get rid of them myself, or should I take them back to the pharmacy for them to dispose of?

Take them back to the pharmacy, they have to be disposed of in a certain way.

Take them back to the pharmacy and they will dispose of them properly.

That was quick! Grin

Thanks, I'll take them back in the morning

...and mention that you stopped the course under medical advice when you hand them over.
