Rock hard lump on gum

Loooong story! Bear with me as i'm shitting it!
Had a wisdom tooth removed 24th August. Had to go back to dentist 22nd september due to horrendous pain. Had an xray and they saw that part of the root had been left in my mouth and had since healed over so have been referred to a hospital consultant to have that removed. (Date tbc). The last 30 hours have been hell again. With pain in the same spot, i presumed the root left inside is reinfected so have an emergency appointment tomorrow, but since applying the bonjela today i have noticed a massive lump at the top of my gum (upper tooth) it feels like bone and is not moveable. Does this sound like it's in relation to the ongoing saga? Or should i be worried about further problems?

Ouchy ouch! Sounds like an abcess. The dentist tomorrow may lance it or prescribe antibiotics. Either way it'll help quite quickly. Poor you.

Having just looked with 2 torches rammed down my throat and a bathroom mirror, it seems to be a collection of abscesses! Some red, some white resulting in the huge hard lump. Does that sound like it nay be possible to have that many rolled in to one?
