Inflamed bowel?

Has anyone been hospitalized because of this? If so, How long was you in for and did you end up having surgery? Thanks in advanced x

Hi my DH has inflammatory bowel disease, they did want to do an operation but instead some drugs seemed to help so he has avoided it. He found steroids helped when he had a flare up but the doctors don't like to give them for too long.
