hi, regular namechange for this...
for a few months I have had gasto problem starting with a d&v bug? in july.
since then I am not able to eat fatty foods (chips, cheesy pasta...) drink alk (don't drink much anyway), without feeling sick and getting diarrhoea.
have been to a gp, done all sorts of bloods and prodded and poked everywhere. blood results expected this week, but gp said they would call earlier if something is out of the ordinary.
don't think it's dairy or wheat intolerance.
if I don't eat much I feel fine, but when I then gradually eat more I start feeling ill again.

have lost 1.5 stone since july. eating out is nearly impossible.
family history of reflux but not of other gastro problems (I think).

if it doesn't get better what should I talk to the gp about?

How awful for you. I've been through similar. My rapid weight loss triggered a gallstone - could it be that? After the bug I really struggled with dairy (this is quite common apparently) though it's taken me ages to get over it.

Omeprazole helped me.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi I have suffered this for years mine was helicabactor pylori. Has your gp discussed the possibility of it being this? Hope you get it sorted soon

boaktheloo · 06/10/2013 22:19

the gp seemed more concerned with the rapid unintentional (as she called it) weight loss than anything else.
said that the liver results are of most interest and said o come back if it doesn't resolve by christmas...

helibactor not mentioned.

Could be gall bladder? I have the same problems, (no d & v though), and have had stool test done, going for further blood test this week for H. pylori, and waiting for an appt. for ultrasound on gall bladder. Mine sounds very much like gall stones from what I've read, although my liver results are OK.

Sounds like a pancreatic problem. Insist on a scan ASAP.

boaktheloo · 07/10/2013 22:07

what could that be with the pancreas?
would something show up with the bloods?

I have similar ongoing problems after getting vomiting bug almost two years ago. Been tested for all sorts and they didn't find anything conclusive so told me it is IBS. I had also lost loads of weight as I couldn't eat properly due to pain and reflux. At one consultation doctor told me it could be pancreas and I was absolutely terrified but CT scan showed it was fine. Try not to worry as I know it doesn't help! I started drinking complain to help regain some weight and get a bit of nutrition.

boaktheloo · 08/10/2013 07:42

I don't have any pain, just feel nauseous and that hot-cold flushy feeling before diarrhoea.

No, pancreatic compromise wouldn't necessarily show up in bloods. It seems scary, I know, but best to get a scan to make sure all is well. I've had most of mine removed, and am fighting fit Smile

well, blood tests and other tests show reduced kidney function.
now awaiting further tests to see if it's the cause or a symptom for something else.
