NSAIDs and breathlessness

Yes, this can happen. Myself and DSis are asthmatic and they exacerbate mine a little, but hers a great deal so she can't use them.

Thank you for replying you don't know how grateful I am, I've been worried about it. I'm not asthmatic but they are certainly having that affect x

No problem. Perhaps switch to paracetamol or aspirin for the time being. Hope you feel better soon.

Unfortunately NSAIDS aren't the most specific of drugs, they inhibit the production of protective prostaglandins as well as ones that cause inflammation.
Hence they actually encourage inflammation in some peoples airways (although not my mildly asthmatic DD) and cause stomach trouble in a lot of people if you take them for long enough.

I think the usual advice is not to take them on an empty stomach.
