Right here goes....

I am hoping someone with an understanding of thyroid test results can help me....

I have been successfully treated for years now for an under active thyroid and apart from when i was pregnant and had to slightly up my dose it has not altered for YEARS.

I was tested in may and my TSH level was 0.92 i felt fine physically and mentally. Tested again in august and this time my TSH level was 0.19 not a great difference but i have been having mild heart palpitations alongside crappy skin and some other symptoms of being slightly on the hyper side.

Is this possible or all in my head??

TIA

Just wanted to add in may my T4 level was 12.3 and in august T4 level was 11.8.

How can my T4 levels be so low when my TSH levels seem ok?

What does it all mean?

It means your TSH is showing itself up as an unreliable method of assessing your thryoid function, which is basically what the top endocrinologist in the country admitted to the Scottish Parliament yesterday. Yes, it is low, but on a standard UK range (if there is such a thing, so is your FT4. Without an FT3 test it is difficult to see what is going on, but clearly something is out of kilter. Maybe your GP should refer you to an endocrinologist?
