Have you had a baby in the last 6 months? Your hair stops falling out while you are pregnant then loads falls out once you have had the baby.

gamerchick · 01/10/2013 21:23

Or did you have an upset stomach a few months ago?11 it takes hair a little while to catch on.

ElleOhElle · 01/10/2013 21:37

Nope, my hair did fall out after I gave birth but that was 2.5 years ago.

I don't remember having stomach upset

Have you got any other symptoms? my hair is falling out, I have had every test under the sun, all have come back normal apart from low iron and ferritin level of 16, so I am on iron tablets.

toodles · 02/10/2013 07:35

This happened to me too. In my case it was due to iron deficiency.

ElleOhElle · 02/10/2013 07:39

hmmm, I did wonder about Iron levels. Do I get a test done at GP or is it ok just to try and boost ny iron levels and see if that works

No get your iron and ferritin levels checked by your Gp, and get him to test your hormone and thyroid levels.
toodles has your hair stopped falling out?

toodles · 02/10/2013 07:55

Yes. This was a long time ago - 6 yrs ago. Can't remember how long it took to stop falling out after the iron tablets, but it did stop.

prettyanddainty · 02/10/2013 08:49

Oh that's good then maybe I have some hope, thanks toodles. I have been taking iron tablets now for just under a month, haven't seen any improvement yet though.
