Stoptober - giving up the fags

Well that's it - Today I'm not smoking. I'm posting here instead of my morning fix. Will post back later after work. I have smoked for 25 years, since I was 15 with a brief 5 year period of cig free living when I was pg/kids were little. I'm 42 now and the habit has to go.

Me too. Enough is enough - it's time to stop. Am patched up and ready to go. Wish me luck!

Me too. Need to stay off them for good this time! Good luck to everyone!

I gave up in Feb after smoking forever. Found using E cigs a godsend

I haven't had a fag since May. It really is a good thing to do. My teeth are whiter, chest is clear, skin much brighter. I still use my e-cig from time to time and use Niquitin Minis occasionally.

Good luck to everyone - if you really want to do it, you can!

How did you get on today? I'm trying but failing!
Well done orchid and lotta
Didn't smoke on Sunday (hangover helped!), had 3 yesterday and 2 today. Normally smoke 10 a day. I can go all day without one but have been smoking when I get in from work.
I've tried all sorts in the past, patches, lozenges, inhalators etc.
Gaaaaaaaahhhhhh! It's so hard!

Well done! You should be very proud. I quit 3 week's ago and I am already feeling much healthier, seem to have more space in my lungs. The next few days will be hard but after that it definitely gets easier so stick with it.

I turned 42 on Thursday. I started smoking at 16. I gave up when ttc and during pregnancy. Back on cigs 1mnth after dd born (born prem at week 33.. She was v poorly and I had to have blood transfusion..v stressful time and I started smoking again)

I started using e cig mid August and gave up smoking on my mum;s birthday 22nd sept. I haven't had a single puff in 10 days!!!!!!!
I use my e cig when I can feel myself getting stressed.

My daughter is 4 today and it is my birthday present to her to be a non smoker. xx
Well done everyone who is giving it a go.
