Hemorrhagic Ovarian Cyst

Hi all, today i was diagnosed with a 4cm Hemorragic Ovarian Cyst on LHS. Other than managing the pain ive had and being aware of the possibilty of bleeing, is there anything i need to/can do to improve this. The doctor said if I was still uncomfortable in 2 weeks to go my GP to refer for another ultrasound.
Additionally, my dh and I are ttc, this is our 3rd, month of ttc. Wondered if anyone has experience having any affect on fertilty or conception? Smile

I had one of these 7 years ago. Frightening at the time, but in my case it had completely gone by the time I had my follow-up scan a month later. In my case the follow-up scan was done as a matter of course, but perhaps that's because I'd had the first scan done on DH's BUPA.

I remember being advised to take it easy and not do any vigorous exercise for a few weeks as a precaution, and to go straight to A&E if I had any sudden pain, because of the danger of a potentially serious complication called ovarian torsion. However in my case all was fine and cleared up within a month of diagnosis.

I managed to conceive about 8 months later, at the ripe old age of 41. Presumably the cyst puts one ovary somewhat out of action for a short while, but as an isolated event it shouldn't be a major problem with ttc.

Hope yours clears up similarly quickly.

Thanks fossilmum I'm currently taking it easy for a
couple of days. Hearing your experience has made me
feel much more positive :-)
