Weird periods - Bit gross, but can anyone help?

Ok, apologies if a bit TMI but not sure if this is normal or not?

Came off pil appx 7 years ago when TTC, after 2dc decided not to go back on pil and dh had the snip.

Periods are fairly regular (I don't keep track of dates) and in past 2 or 3 years they began to start not as an immediate bleed but more with a tiny bit of old? blood that would be brown rather than red, iykwim? then after a couple of days change t a normal period.

I'm a week and half into what i think is my period, but apart from day one where there was sne red blood, it has been just a very small amount of the old blood / brown marks, really.

I had the loop / LETZ thing about 3 years ago, all my smears have been up to date and fine so far (touch wood)

i s tis normal or am i not realising its a massive warning sign?

I would make a note of this, and if it happens again then go to your doctor. Periods do change sometimes and it can be due to a variety of reasons, eg stress or a minor illness. If it continues for ages then check it out as well.

I had this for a while. It was exactly as you described. I asked the doctor about it and was told that it could be stress related. As it happens, I had been stressed and as the levels went down, it stopped. Not terribly helpful I'm afraid, but thought I'd let you know that you're not alone in this!

Mine have been like this for 5 or 6 years, I keep thinking I should check if it's normal then I just forget until next time!

I hadn"t given i any thought when I mentioned it in passing and dh looked gobsmacked and said 'Its still not properly turned up?' and then reminded me about the loop thingy I had forgotton about slightly worrying me!

Will wait a few more days and see if it sorts itself.

I hate periods.

I conceived dd2 on a period like this, bit of blood and normal period didn't start for 5 or 6 days. By my dates, though, it was the first bleed that counted as the start. It is possible that I've been stressed for 6 years I suppose!
