CIN3 & Pregnant

I was diagnosed with CIN 3 last week, and am going for a coloscopy next week. (Which was unsettlingly quick, I thought, but GP says is quite standard for our area)
Period a couple of days late, has been slightly irregular for a while, so thought little of it. But I could smell DS's peepee nappy from the next room when I woke up, so I POAS today and am pg.
Anyone got any experience of this? Can they do a coloscopy/LLETZ/biopsy while I'm pregnant? I am a bit scared.

Hi
What the colposcopist will do is probably assess your cervix using a special microscope (a colposcope) to try and confirm the abnormality and it's size.
They can often then monitor you during pregnancy and arrange for treatment post natally - this does depend on you, what the investigations find and the colposcopist though.

The colposcopy society has more information about investigations and treatment, including here. Also Jo's trust can be very supportive including the forum.

Hope you're ok and the appointment goes well.

I got pregnant while I had CIN 3, I had had treatment and the the cells returned, then got pregnant before I could have the treatment again. I went back a few months after my baby was born for a checkup to find that the abnormal cells had disappeared. So it was all fine in my case.

Thanks Champlan, that's very reassuring. Just wait and see, eh
