My ds turned two last monday (and dont we know it!!)soo phoned up th eclinic to see about his check and was told they no longer think it worth doing so as a cost effective alternative they hav esent out a book and your own check list! Am i of the minority thinking this is a little wrong i see the check a s an oppotunity to bring up other little problems that on thier own do not constitute a trip to the doctors but would have liked to have at least mentioned them!!!

I think many have stopped now, including mine, though I have been given an appointment for dts 2yr development check, but I think that may be because they were 7 weeks prem.

They do not do the checks here but there is a health visitors clinic every week which I'm sure I could go to if I had any concerns.

um, shoudln't a 2 year old be having a proper GP medical??
(I would never take any sprog of mine anywhere near the HVs for their silly "checks" anyway).

Ours are at 2.5 now, and are optional. They don't really do 'health' checks as such, more just general development - tbh, I would skip it except I really like my HV and so does dd,and its round the corner, so we'll go for fun

Yes I did receive the bookstart pack. I'm sure I got a voucher sent through that I had to take to the Library and they gave me it.

Yep our PCT has stopped the 2 yr check in a visit form - we get a single page A4 questionnaire with 6 questions on it.

Load of pants if you ask me. But yet another money saving exercise.
