Help me solve a mystery

I had the mirena coil fitted about 3 months ago and have had some side effects ever since. These have been nausea, headaches, mood swings, heartburn , sore boobs and generally pregnancy symptoms. Around ovulation, this has been worse and the last 2 months I have felt so ill around ovulation and actually vomited (suffered with hyperemesis in pregnancy and was very similar).
I now have a new symptom which is very severe and sudden pain which is in the whole of my lower abdomen and back and also in my bottom. It has happened twice since Sunday and lasts a couple of hours in which I can't do anything but lie still in bed. It feels like a continuous contraction and when it goes off, I'm still let with mild pain and a heavy feeling.
I saw the gp on Tuesday but he just said that, as long as it's not getting worse, just wait and see. He said it could be a cyst or an infection from the coil, but we should wait and see.
I had this again last night, very badly, and I'm worried about what it could be. Has anyone else had this, either with or without the mirena? Any ideas what it could be?

TBH, with all those side effects I would assume it's not for me and have the coil removed. Poor you - sounds horrendous.

I think I will do, I wanted to give it a chance to settle because they say it takes at least 6 months but I don't think I can wait that long. Thank you

Sounds like uterine spasm which is really painful. I had this once and luckily never again. I have a Mirena, too but love mine to bits. I know it doesn't suit everyone but think you're right to give it a while to settle.

Ps yor GP sounds rubbish...could be an infection wait and see?? Hope he/she took swabs to check?
