Miracle cure for colds, anyone?

I've got a stinking cold, sniffling and coughing and a sore throat.

On Monday I've got a very important meeting at work which I have to attend and I want to make a good impression so do not want to be coughing and snotty.

Has anyone got a miracle cure for me please to make this go away in the next few days?

Alternatively, I'm quite happy to get recommendations on how to hide the cold for a couple of hours and at least appear normal! Grin

You can leave it untreated, and it will get better in about 7 days.
Or treat it with everything you can get at the chemist, and it will be cured in about a week. Grin
Symptom relief is the best you can hope for.

That said - invest in some Contac which dries you up pretty much completely.
Ask the pharmacists for the best recommendation for your partivular sort of cough, while you are there buying the Contac.

Hope the meeting goes well.

Thank you, I'll try that!

In my younger days I unwittingly found that drinking shit-loads of brandy proved a success. Not that that would be any use for an important meeting, sorry. But it really did work!

I haven't got any brandy, wonder if wine works? Grin

You could give it a go. And if you have enough of it, even if it doesn't work you won't care any more!

I go for hot lemonaid and paracetamol last thing at night. I think it helps sweat it out. A nurse told my mum that's what they all use and not beechams.

Zinc and Vit c helps me. As well as something really spicy (I make chicken noodle soup) to sweat it out.

Massive amounts of vitamin c

If I feel a cold coming I buy a few lemons. Boil water pour in a mug and squeeze in lemon juice. Have it just before you go to bed, it's vile if like me, you hate lemon but I think it works. Irs a hard hit of vitamin C.

Hot lemon, Brandy and sugar to sweeten. Obviously not just before the meeting Grin But you try this over the weekend. When I lived in Portugal they swore by it. I really works. Hope you feel better soon.

It's called a Poncha, made with Aguardente but Brandy will do
