Does this sound like a migraine?

Had this before but wasn't sure what it was. Vision started to go pixelated over one eye, and abit dark, but didn't feel faint. Felt a bit hot. Just woken up today and the same thing happened, but felt abit odd with it, but again not faint. Lay down and have taken some paracetamol. Felt very tired and got headache over one eye which I always used to get before my period. I've had a mirena fitted for 18 months, wondered if this isn't helping matters, as I've never got along with progesterone!
Any migraine suffers out there think this sounds familiar!? I've got myself into a tiz about it....

It does sound like a migraine. Usually when it affects one eye & vision distorted are the symptoms. I find I feel very sleepy when I have a migraine.
The Mirena may be causing it. I had headaches when I had one but had it removed as I couldn't stand the bleeding, greasy hair, spots & permanent PMT that I had.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your reassurance.
I just feel washed out and head all over the place. Will talk to docs a about Mirena, but they always seem to say "the delivery of the progesterone is localised so you shouldn't get whatever effects you are getting" blah blah.....

It does sound like migraine. The visual disturbance is normally the sign I am getting one. Once the vision returns to normal the thumping head pain and nausea kicks in. Sucks!

Yes. Can you lie down in a dark room?
Stay away from screens and reading for as long as you can.

I stopped taking the pill for other reasons, but I noticed I had far fewer migraines after stopping.

Have spoken to my GP. She's done me a prescription for Imigram (?) to try and nip any future migraines in the bud. Still got a dull ache over my left eye, feel washed out. Going to get my head down for an hour before school pick up.
