I'm 30. I found a hard lump near my nipple. I went to the gp who said he wasn't worried but sent me to the breast clinic at my request. Consultant wasn't bothered by it and said I could go home rather than having ultrasound. I said I was there and I might as well have the US. It came out indeterminate which means a 2% chance of malignancy. I had a core needle biopsy, the results were benign however they wanted it excised under general because the consultant hadnt seen anything like this before. Great! Just had the operation and now I've read that it's still a 2% chance of malignancy once an excision with 1/2cm margins is done.
So I feel after all this, I'm in the same boat. I'm in limbo. I can't stand this. So my question is...Has anyone has a malignancy after a benign biopsy. I just can't get this out of my head.
