Apologies to anyone who has a 'proper' medical problem - in fact apologies to myself and my own 'proper' medical problems.

Ive burnt my throat and its really really hurting!! (Said it was pathetic). Ate some mashed potato from an M and S ready meal yesterday straight from the oven. Burnt my mouth loads of times but I suppose because its soft went straight down throat. Really painful at time and drank tons of water.

Thought would be better today but very difficult to swallow and eat and also getting indigestion now because food wont go down properly.

Oh - and did I mention - it HURTS!!!!
Sitting here considering venturing out to garage to see if theyve got any ice cream.

ouch! Try sucking an ice cube or throat lozenges - anything that will numb it slightly whilst it heals
It'll probably be better tomorrow

crystaltips · 16/02/2004 21:16

God I did that two days ago with a fondue - bloody sore and the only thing that's soothing me is lots of wine to numb the pain
My mouth has about 5 ulcers in it and I can soooo understand ...

So stop laughing all you meanies out there

Lisa78 · 16/02/2004 21:21

we're laughing at Coddy sounding like Yoda, not at Kizzies burned throat

crystaltips · 16/02/2004 21:27

sorry - lost me ????

suedonim · 17/02/2004 00:32

Kizzie, I hope your throat is better by now, otherwise try gargling and then swallowing soluble aspirin.

Lol at Yoda!!

misdee · 17/02/2004 08:28

honey is also good for soothing sore throats - just a spoonful and let it slide down.

crystaltips · 17/02/2004 21:34

still feeling sorry for you kizzie - as I am feeling crap
I tried honey - but it was quite strong and "burnt" my mouth ( for want of a better word )

Tea tree is working for me - but I am just gargling .... not too sure that it should be swallowed though

suedonim · 17/02/2004 22:28

Can I add a plea for sympathy for my pathetic complaint?? It's my right thumb, hot and sore and feeling itchy inside!! Dh says I've got Athletes Foot of the thumb.

kizzie · 18/02/2004 09:59

Hi Crystaltips - went to see the nurse in end yesterday because I couldnt swallow anything. (Cant believe I was so stupid!!!)

Anyway apparently got to eat very soft food (pureed if necessary) for next 3 days and only at room temperature (not too hot or too cold.)

DH thinks this is all highly amusing.

Hope yours feeling bit better today. tea tree oil sounds a good idea.

Suedonim- welcome to the pathetics board!

Haven't ever burnt my throat, but when i was about 8 i stabbed myself in the back of the throat with one of those combs with the long handle. Had a little hole, and a very sore throat. My mom was hysterrical.
