Does anyone know of a GEL to help Chicken Pox Spots?

Hi ds has chicken pox qute badly at the min and we are using calamine/aqueous cream mixture as recommended by the chemists. A friend of a friends children have just got over cp and she apparently used a skin gel which helped dry out the spots and clear them up really quickly.

It wasn't a gel specifically for cp just or skin irritations I think but she cant remember the name of it and no chesmist I have asked seems to know what it might be.

Anyone got any ideas as my poor ds going insane?

When my daughter had it someone recommended aloe vera gel,my chemist had it. The best thing for my daughter when she had it(extremely severely)was lukewarm baths every few hours with an old sock full of porridge oats. They really soothe itching(used by excema sufferers too). Eurax cream/lotion can be good if your child is 3 yrs or older. And if any look as if they might get infected use neat tea tree oil on them, its a natural antiseptic and dry out the spots. Hope its over soon I know it is absolute hell when you can't help your little one!

make up a paste using bicarb of soda and warm water and, slather it on and let it dry. That'll work too- sorted out my 14mo twins when they had Cpox.

Epsom salts in the bath worked wonders for ds - he was covered in spots but never once felt itchy.

Tried the bicarb paste he screamed said it stung him but gave him a tepid bath with bicarb in that seemed to help a bit. Where do you get Epsom salts from Cupcakes?
