Do these symptoms require a trip to the GP?

I have had a headache which starts at the base of my neck at the back of my head and finishes on the top left hand side accompanied by a dizzy sick feeling each day for about 2 weeks now but it comes and goes throughout the day.

I wondered whether my eyes need testing again but my vision seems fine.

I also thought it could be linked to being hungry but food doesn't shift it.

The last thing I want to do is waste my GP's time so I wondered if anyone had any ideas please?

Why don't you get your eyes tested first anyway, as conditions are often picked up by the optician that often go undetected by us mere mortals .are easy to sort out.
If he gives you the all clear, and you are still having the headaches, then yes, I would definitely see a GP....this is what they are there for....and I'm sure yours would not feel as if you are a time waster.

Sinusitis?

whatshallwedo · 20/09/2013 17:38

Have made an appointment for an eye test to see if they have changed.

If it was sinitus (sp?) would I have cold symptoms as well?

well.. i would see a gp in this situation yes! it sounds horrible

whatshallwedo · 20/09/2013 17:56

It is quite horrible as it doesn't seem to go once it's there.

I have recently seperated from my dp so I'm not sure if that is contributing as well.

I wouldn't consider that a waste of your GPs time at all.

It sounds like a stress headache or perhaps a stress migraine hence the sick dizzy feeling and onesidedness of it. Try massaging the muscles at the back of your neck and shoulders not just when you have the headache. I would go and see my GP if it doesn't improve.

valiumredhead · 20/09/2013 18:30

No,ime you don't have cold symptoms with sinusitis.

CotherMuckingFunt · 20/09/2013 18:32

I had this plus migraines for months before I went to see a doctor. After brain scans and MRIs they found that I have a herniated disc in my neck. Headaches are so debilitating that you should get checked out for your own sanity.
