Have you looked on a Diabetes site or rung your diabetes nurse at your surgery? Hope you are feeling OK.

Hi, I have type 2 diabetes (diagnosed in May) and asthma.
I also have a stinking cold, this is obviously my first cold since being diabetic.........I was using sugar-free Halls cough sweets, lots of hot tea to ease my sore throat, Olbas Oil for blocked nose and paracetamol for temperature.
I gave in after ten days and went to the GP for anti-biotics where I was told it was a chest infection and with the asthma and diabetes diagnoses I should have gone in much sooner! I've never been offered anti-bs so readily before!
I didn't find any other remedies safe for us to use, and still have a rotten cough, so will be watching this thread with interest.

I hope you are feeling better soon, OP.
