8.5 month old suddenly being sick after every feed...

Wasn't quite sure where to put this but here goes.

The last couple of weeks ds has started to be sick after every feed. He's never been a particularly sickly baby, maybe the old mouthful now and again, but now it's all the time and in large quantities. Sometimes it's straight after a feed (breastfed), sometimes it can be over a hour afterwards.

We have an appointment at the doctors for his 8 month check so will mention it then but thought i'd just check out the MN wisdom beforehand.

how is he at winding?, i mean is he easy to get a burp out of, sometimes they can posset alot if they've got trapped wind.

my dd ws bottle fed and she was soooooo sick, all the time until weaning. i lost count of how many times at bedtime we'd have to strip the cot, re bath her as she'd brought up all her milk. he stomach muscle is weak and struggles to keep food in. she's still a bit like that now, if she coughs, she retches and is sick even at 4

Hi lk, he's fine at winding, always has been, gives us a good burp his dad would be proud of

Do you have to be careful with what you fed you dd.

not really, but she was better at keeping solids down than milk.

the first time she did it, my mum was feeding her, she was 3 weeks old and had just finished a 6oz bottle. she then projectile vomited all over the armchair and my mum. it was everywhere and milk is awful to get off furniture.

hopefully someone else will be along and be able to give more advice. there are lots of mnetters who breastfeed.

bump

Piggiesmum · 24/06/2006 20:11

thanks for the bump lk.

Fortunately it hasn't happened today so now I'm hoping it was just a bug or something. Still, it's quite worrying when he's never been sickly before. Guess I'm just suffering from paranoid 1st-time mum panics.
