I was surprised to get a letter from our doctors surgery offering my 9 year old dd a flu jab.

She has recently been diagnosed with mild aortic regurgitation and will be followed up every 2 years by cardiology.

Does she need this?

If GP is advising it I would say it would lessen any strain on the heart that is caused by having a high temperature which accompanies the real flu - not colds. It will do no harm only good.
I am old enough to have the yearly flu jabs and the only disadvantage is the slightly bruised arm for a few days afterwards.

Her health problem may mean she is more at risk of complications from flu.
It is almost always better to have the flu jab if you have serious health problems.
